A hurting person needs a helping hand, not an accusing finger.

OUR HISTORY

The Ministry of Likewise – Luke 10:27-37

The parable of the Good Samaritan offers profound lessons for us all. Firstly, it underscores the need for self-improvement and extending the same to others. Secondly, it teaches us to demonstrate practical love (AGAPE) to those in need, including our enemies, without any conditions attached. Three principles emerge: Lack of love is often easy to justify, but it’s never right. Our neighbor encompasses anyone in need, irrespective of race, creed, or social background. Love requires action to meet the person’s need.

Attitudes from characters in the parable varied: The expert in the law saw the wounded man as a subject for discussion. The robbers viewed him as someone to exploit. Religious men saw him as a problem to avoid. The innkeeper saw him as a customer to serve for a fee. The Samaritan viewed him as a person deserving care and love. Jesus saw value in all, worthy of sacrificing for.

Confronting the needs of others reveals our attitudes. Jesus used this parable to highlight the acceptable attitude: that of the Samaritan.

“A hurting person needs a helping hand, not an accusing finger.” — Pastor Oheneba Cofie

Vision Statement

Likewise Christian Ministries International is a ministry founded on biblical principles. Our vision is to raise and restore every wounded person to total health as we serve in the spirit of excellence with integrity and compassion for our community, our nation and our world.

Why Join Us?

We believe in the Trinity—God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and uphold the Bible as the authoritative Word of God, guiding all aspects of life. We affirm the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as accessible through Christ’s finished work and honour partners in the Ministry of the Kingdom of God. Living as members of God’s family, we prioritize divine healing through prayer and the laying on of hands and foster a deep passion for Powerful Prayer and Praise. We believe in the governance of the church by Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, elders, and deacons. Additionally, we emphasize tithing, sharing resources, and maintaining unity across differences, reflecting our unity in Christ. We use the three strategies of Talk, Play and Experience and the eight building blocks of Communication, Values, Physical health, Emotional health, Family fun, Community, Goals and Spiritual Growth for our Healthy Communities Projects in Havering Borough.

Our MINISTRIES

Join us in building the body of Christ through weekly Bible study gatherings in local venues. Members take turns leading, fostering a community where everyone’s voice matters. Through this, we strengthen our theological understanding and root ourselves in God’s Word. Join a home cell near you to be part of this enriching experience.

Kids Ministry

During the crucial period of a child's life, they need to develop confidence as they grow. Likewise Christian Ministries instills biblical values in children in a playful, exciting, and colorful manner, laying a stable foundation for their future. We believe in the importance of continuity from childhood teachings to adulthood, ensuring they remain rooted in these truths. We prioritize children's spiritual growth through engaging activities and teachings on Sundays, tailored specifically for those in junior school. Using carefully selected, up-to-date materials, we explore biblical principles relevant to today's society. Children initially join adults for prayer, teaching, and worship before transitioning to age-appropriate activities designed just for them. Join us as we invest in our children's spiritual journey, shaping them to become strong pillars in their faith.

Youth Ministry

In the ever-evolving landscape of today's youth culture, where challenges like drug abuse and violence loom large, our young people require more than just guidance—they need a solid foundation, unwavering support, and a nurturing environment to thrive. Likewise Christian Ministries understands this urgent need and is dedicated to providing comprehensive programs tailored to the unique needs of our youth. Our approach is holistic, addressing not only their spiritual development but also their emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Through carefully designed initiatives, including mentorship, counselling, and skills development workshops, we empower young people to make positive choices and become leaders in their communities. But it's not just about steering clear of negative influences; it's about igniting a passion for God and His purpose in their lives. Our youth are not merely bystanders; they are active participants, enthusiastic about their faith and eager to make a difference. With hearts ablaze for God, they serve as ambassadors of hope and agents of transformation wherever they go. Join us as we invest in the future leaders of tomorrow, equipping them to shine brightly and impact their world for Christ. Together, let's cultivate a generation of young warriors, armed with faith, integrity, and a burning desire to change the world for good.

Music Ministry

Psalm 66:1-2 exhorts, "Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands. Sing forth to the honour of His name, make His praise glorious." At Likewise Church, we embrace worship as a fervent response of the heart, uniting with Heaven in exuberant praise, reflecting God's glory. According to 2 Chronicles, God's glory, power, and presence manifest through our unified, Holy Spirit-inspired worship. In Joshua, we witness how our garments of praise and worship unleash God's transformative power, breaking strongholds and turning impossibilities into victories. At our church, praising and worshipping the Lord Most High is our daily lifestyle. In a spirit of collective celebration, we encourage one another to testify of God's goodness, grace, and transformative touch, liberating souls spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Our talented group of musicians and singers convenes to seek God's presence, pray, worship, and refine our skills, preparing ourselves to serve Him authentically. Join us as we lift His name on high, declaring His greatness!

Ladies Ministry

WOMEN OF COMPASSION In John 4:39, many Samaritans believed in Jesus because of the testimony of a woman who said, "He told me all that I ever did." Today, women possess immense potential to positively impact society, both within their homes and beyond. They are builders of careers and offer valuable leadership in communities. Likewise Christian Ministries challenges women to utilize all the gifts bestowed upon them by the gospel. Our ministry focuses on cultivating a deep relationship with God through daily prayer and Bible study, allowing God's Word to transform our hearts and lives, and learning to love and worship God authentically. We also emphasize practising good stewardship of our time, talents, and resources. In relationships with others, women are encouraged to embrace the roles of loving and humble mothers, dedicate themselves to nurturing their families, share their faith boldly through evangelism, and serve others through ministry and missions. Join us as we empower women to fulfil their potential and make a difference in the world around.

Home-Cell Ministry

As a local church, our focus is on building the body of Jesus Christ through consistent and effective Bible study programs. We gather during the week in various local venues where members come together for these studies. Each session is led by a chosen member who facilitates discussion, while others contribute their insights. We believe that God speaks through His people during these times, so even new believers are encouraged to share their thoughts as they sense God's communication. Through these gatherings, we sharpen our theological understanding and strengthen our members' roots in the power of God's Word. Join us at a home cell near you and be part of this enriching experience!

Men's Ministry

Every man desires to achieve and excel in life, aspiring to play an effective leadership role and serve as an inspiring example for those around them. At Likewise Christian Ministries, we recognize and embrace these ambitions, offering a men's ministry dedicated to equipping men with the practical insights they need to overcome life's trials and emerge as victorious leaders. Our approach goes beyond mere instruction; we foster a supportive community where men find encouragement, accountability, and mentorship, enabling them to navigate challenges with confidence and grace. Through a variety of avenues, including small group discussions, workshops, and outreach initiatives, our men's ministry provides opportunities for growth in spiritual, emotional, and relational dimensions. Whether engaging in fellowship, deepening discipleship, or serving others, men at Likewise are empowered to become the best versions of themselves, making a positive impact within their families, workplaces, and communities. Join us on this transformative journey as we strive to fulfill our potential and answer the call to leadership with integrity and purpose.

Oheneba Cofie

Senior Pastor

Introducing our dedicated ministry team, a passionate
group of individuals committed to serving and leading with excellence in our church community.

“Compassion for the wounded” is the vision of Pastor Oheneba Cofie. It was born from the experiences he had in his youth. At the tender age of seventeen, his father disowned and threw him out of “Pharaoh’s Palace” and onto the streets of Accra, Ghana, alone, poor, and with no one to turn to.

After years of wandering in the desert, he finally found someone—Jesus Christ, the Good Samaritan. From then on, Jesus Christ became the dearest friend and the father he had been deprived of for so long.

Today, Pastor Cofie is a blessed man who has been married to his wife Beatrice for over 20 years and has two daughters. After graduating from South London Bible College (England) in 1993, he helped pioneer and promote many other churches before being called into full-time ministry in 2000. He became the founder of Likewise Christian Ministries, where he was sent by God to “Go and do Likewise” (Luke 10:37).
